Embroidery is a detailed and rigorous process carried out by teams specialised in the field. To prevent them from being spoilt or damaged, it is necessary to adopt some specific measures.
Hand Washing
- This is the most recommended. Start by placing the garment in a basin of soapy water for 20 minutes. Lightly rub the areas where the garment is dirty (it is not recommended to rub the embroidery).
- Rinse with clean water (don’t twist the piece as this could damage the embroidery). Leave to dry in the shade.
Machine Washing
- Turn the garment inside out so that only the back of the embroidery is exposed during washing.
- Put the clothes in a laundry bag and then wash as normal.
- Do not use a tumble dryer. Let the clothes dry in the open air and in the shade.
Ironing
- Place a piece of fabric over the embroidered area before ironing. This will protect the embroidery and prevent it from undergoing any unwanted changes.
